There is one way to guarantee a Super Rare Den will spawn, and that's by using Expedition Tickets (SR) in the multiplayer Expedition Co-Op quests.
So you need to keep pinging as you wander around. The Super Rare Dens will also be labeled, but know this power does not ping every possible den, only the ones in nearby vicinity. To identify them on the map, add Rathian or Kulu-Ya-Ku to your party and use their Rider Action, Nest Search, to make dens appear on your map.
They look like extra shiny, platinum dens with a rainbow sheen - somewhat similar to subquest dens if you're not paying attention.
